What You Need to Start.
A high-speed connection, a device that you can use for Zoom and a guitar. That’s it! If you need helping choosing and purchasing a guitar, I’d be happy to guide you through that process. Guitars are easier to buy than ever before, with many great options under $300. Believe me when I say that wasn’t always the case.
Tuition.
Lesson fees are $150/month, and are due the first week of each month via Venmo (@drudavismusic). Most months, you will have four weekly lessons. Some months, you will have five, depending on the calendar. Fees do not change from month to month. This keeps things simple and consistent, and also makes up for lessons I may have to cancel due to illness or travel.
Cancellations/Reschedules.
If you need to reschedule a guitar lesson, please let me know as soon as possible. Lessons can always be rescheduled when requested two weeks in advance. Outside two weeks, no guarantees will be made, but I will do my best.
Holidays.
Lessons are not held on New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or Christmas.
Referrals.
If you refer a new student, and they start lessons, your next month is free. No, seriously! You can do this as many times as you like, too. Just make sure the new student:
-
Hasn’t taken lessons from me before
-
Takes a month of guitar lessons
-
Mentions you before they start
How to Get the Most Out of Lessons
Play. Every. Single. Day. 😎
I know, it’s obvious, right? But it’s really the most important thing. Find time every day to pick up that beautiful instrument and practice something you have not yet mastered. The more consistent you are, the faster you’ll improve.a
Ask Questions.🙋
I will show you all the things I think are important to the craft of playing guitar, but you will have a unique set of abilities, goals and struggles (everyone is different, after all!). Coming to lessons with questions is like a big shortcut to all the things you want to know!
Play music with others. 🧑🤝🧑
It’s remarkable how effective this is. I dare say it works even better than guitar lessons🤯. That’s right I said it! Something magical happens when you play music with other people. You gain knowledge/experience from others, and keeping time with other musicians improves your abilities faster than just practicing.
